For committed paddlers who want access, progression, and community.
Tide Level is first and foremost a skills-forward membership, with added access for paddlers who want to be on the water often.
What’s Included
Free Kayak Access on Lake Union
Tide Level includes free access to NWOC kayaks for paddling on Lake Union, launching directly from our docks. This access is designed to remove friction and make it easier to paddle consistently, especially on evenings or days when transporting your own kayak isn’t practical.
Includes use of a single, double, or triple kayak
July and August weekends are excluded
Optional $100 add-on to include July & August weekend rentals
Included kayak access is there to remove friction and make it easier to paddle consistently, even if you have your own kayak.
Skills Nights (Core Offering)
Instructor-led evening sessions focused on practical paddling skills such as rescues, edging, bracing, and stroke efficiency.
- Typically one per month, May–early October
- RSVP required; capacity is limited
- Events are capped and scheduled intentionally to maintain quality and safety
Member Paddles
Relaxed, staff-led paddles offered periodically throughout the season to support consistency, connection, and time on the water between Skills Nights. Paddles are about shared time on the water, not formal instruction.
Annual Coaching Benefit (Choose One Per Year)
Each Tide Level member may choose one of the following coaching options during their membership year:
Option A: FOSK Refresher Weekend
For paddlers who have completed Fundamentals of Sea Kayaking (FOSK) or have equivalent experience approved by NWOC.
- Includes the Saturday Lake Union session (9:00am–12:00pm)
- Sunday Deception Pass day trip.
- RSVP required; subject to class capacity.
OR
Option B: Private Coaching Session (2 hours)
One 2-hour private session focused on your goals (stroke efficiency, rescues, edging/bracing, confidence building, etc.).
