Group Kayak and Paddleboard Rentals in Seattle
Perfect for corporate outings or team building on Lake Union
Northwest Outdoor Center offers group kayak and paddleboard rentals for groups of 9–40 people on Lake Union. Group reservations ensure availability, streamlined check-in, and dedicated staff support for your event.
Group rentals are self-guided. Our staff handle check-in, gear, and a pre-launch orientation. A guide does not accompany your group on the water.
2027 Group Rental Rates
Group rentals use our standard equipment rates. Prices are per craft and do not include sales tax. Price per paddler only shown as a budgeting aid.

Triple or 3-person kayaks are our most economical option but we only have a few. They work well for families paddling with a child, or as part of a larger mix. Ask about them when you send your request and we will confirm availability for your date.
Groups of 25 or more paddlers require a separate $50 staff gratuity. Groups of 40 or more paddlers require a $100 staff gratuity.

2 hour minimum rental period. Rentals lasting longer than the 2 hour minimum (starting at your reservation time) will be charged at our standard hourly pro-rated rate.

Final equipment count must be confirmed 72 hours before your rental time. Minimum rental charge is 80% of this count.

Group Reservation Requirements
Group size: 9–40 people
Advance booking:

Groups of 9–19 people: at least 24 hours in advance

Groups of 10 or more paddlers must be paid with one credit card (no individual payments)

We cannot hold or confirm a group reservation without this information
Tip: The more advance notice you give us, the more flexibility we have with availability and scheduling.
Group Size Categories & Scheduling Rules
Groups of 7 watercraft or 12 or more people
Minimum 2-hour rental period. We charge our standard rates. A $20 per item deposit secures your kayaks and paddle boards and is applied to the rental balance. Deposit refundable 72 hours ahead of rental time, or if NWOC cancels due to unsafe conditions including but not limited to:

Groups of 15 or more people
Minimum 2-hour rental period. You are charged for what you reserve and require a deposit based on group size with the balance due after the rental. Rental charges begin at the start time of your reservation.

Weekday Group Rentals (Monday-Friday):
All rentals must start at 5pm or earlier. Limited same-day adjustments may be possible (e.g., switching a single kayak to a double)
Weekend and Holiday Group Rentals:
10am reservations only with a maximum 3 hour rental period. All rentals must be returned before 1pm. Day-of equipment changes are typically not possible
Group Discounts

Groups of 15-25 receive a 10% discount off our standard rates.

Groups of 26-40 receive a 15% discount off our standard rates.

Deposits
Groups of 13-20: $250
Groups of 21-30: $500
Groups of 31-40: $750
Your deposit secures your date and applies in full towards the rental total
