Come paddle on the lake with us! No experience necessary.
We are ON the Water, with docks right outside our office door. From there, you can paddle to Alaska, or just explore the beautiful Seattle waterways.
From our docks on Lake Union, we have introduced thousands of people to the joys of kayaking each year. You can paddle from NWOC to Lake Washington, where you have some 80+ miles of paddling. Several paddlers have left our dock on their way to Alaska. We have 20+ models of kayaks available to tryout here on the lake, and also to take away to other destinations. We have experience with most of the kayaks that are made today, and have chosen a range of models that will fullfill the needs of most paddlers. We have singles, doubles and triples, and some sit-on-tops for your paddling pleasure.

Rental prices include: boat, paddle(s), life jackets(s), wetsuit for off-site rentals, (not required for Lake Union rentals, $8 min wetsuit rental for lake, free Oct-April), spray skirts(s), bilge pump, paddle float.
"To Go" or offsite rentals only available March 15 through October 15th.
Reservations for offsite rentals, (not Lake Union!!) must be made 1 week in advance to assure availability, longer in July and August
Before a boat leaves our shop, we must have a signed waiver from all persons who will be paddling our boats.
BOATS ARE RENTABLE FOR LAKE AND INLAND MARINE WATERS ONLY! NOT FOR RIVERS OR SURF
**Requirements for Off-site Rentals:
- All persons paddling our boats off the lake must have taken kayaking lessons, including rescue techniques, and have the ability to handle safely all paddling conditons.
- Good, substantial car racks, like Yakima, Thule, Quick N Easy, or bolted-on racks on camper shells are necessary. Factory racks, the back of pickup trucks, on top of cars/shells without racks, are not strong enough for sea kayaks. We have some racks available for rent w/boats. We cannot fit all cars- call to see if we can fit your car!
- Renters are responsible for full replacement value of any equipment damaged or lost!
Here is an opportunity for frequent paddlers to reduce rental costs, get regular exercise and learn a lot about different kayaks. Yearly pass holders pay an up-front fee and paddle our kayaks on Lake Union/Lake Washington (no overnight use or cartopping to other destinations) during our regular hours of operation. The pass is valid for a one, two or three person kayak and can be used as often as you'd like within these parameters: May 15 - Sept 15, Mon. - Fri., no weekends or holidays; September 16 - May 14, everyday we are open.
Passes are available at NWOC for $249.00 plus tax, good for 1 year from time of purchase
