Lake Union is one of the most diverse and impressive inner-city lakes in the world. Presently containg 600 acres (and shrinking), the lake is under constant siege by a multitude of vested interest groups who have varying and often conflicting designs for it. We hope that by participating in an NWOC tour, you will come to appreciate this fragile resource as much as we have, and help to preserve it. We provide kayaks and instructions. No experience necessary.

Golden Gardens Sunset Tours back to the top

Not scheduled this year due to Covid. Keep your shades on! We're heading west on this tour, right into the sunset. We'll paddle through the colorful ship canal into the Ballard Locks, where the gravity fed elevator will take us down to Puget Sound level. While El Sol is sinking beyond the Olympics, we will leisurely make our way to Golden Gardens, where we will head back to NWOC by vehicle. Tours depart NWOC.

COST: $60.00

StandUp Paddle Board back to the top

Come out with us and enjoy Lake Union on a Standup Paddle Board! This combo class and Lake cruise will introduce you to the basics of the sport, or help you refine your technique if you have some experience. We'll start out with proper stance, holding the paddle, and paddling techniques to help you turn, and go straighter with less effort. Then we'll go for a paddle, and coach you on paddling while we're underway. A fun way to learn and practice a sport that offers a great way to keep in shape, or just enjoy being out on the water.
