New!! Come on down and rent an SUP (Standup Paddle Board) and cruise the lake in style! The world's best surfers even love it, they say it's like walking on water. Besides, it can be a very good core workout. Easy to learn, no experience necessary. We have 2 models of Surftech boards for you to try, the 12' 1" Laird Ron House, and the 11' 6" model, both in softop version. We also have a 12' 1" for sale in the Tuflite version. And for now, we have a YOLO SUP, a very buoyant model that can carry large people or parent and child, 2 kids, etc. Rental is $13/hour, available for rental from our dock only, no take-away.

Don't miss out on kayaking this summer! We have plenty of Basic Strokes and Basic Rescue classes coming up, and our popular Fundamentals of Sea Kayaking classes will get you ready for your kayaking adventures.

Kayaks, Clothing and Paddles - Thursday, April 23, 2009

Check out our 2009 Class Schedule here.

Looking to stay warm in your boat this Spring? We rent and sell drysuits (and wetsuits) for your paddling pleasure. If you need your drysuit gaskets replaced, we sell the seals and glue to do the job right. We also have loaner gasket forms for doing it yourself. We can also replace most of them in -house, or send them to the manufacturer for you. Here are some tips for taking care of the seals and zippers on those priceless drysuits and tops. Here are instructions for replacing Neck and wrist/ankle seals.

Yearly Rental Pass. For those of you who want to paddle often, without the hassle of hauling your boat around (or even having one), this is the ticket.

Looking to buy a boat? Come on down and try some out, along with a wide selection of paddles. Trying the boats and paddles side-by-side will help you narrow down your selection.

US Coast Guard Required Equipment and Tips: Here is a link to the requirements for safe boating in the US.

Cold Water Bootcamp. Learn about cold water immersion, hypothermia, and the importance of thermal protection- wetsuits/drysuits- and PFDs (lifejackets).

Here is a link to our retail prices and specs for new kayaks.  (PDF here) Don't forget our everyday deal: buy a boat from us, and you get 15% off all your accessories for 6 months!

Come on down and try out some kayaks and paddles. You will be able to make a much more informed decision once you have paddled the boats, or tried the different style paddles, side-by-side.

Necky's new bomber composite layup is incredibly strong.  Made with Epoxy resin, and baked in an autoclave to cure, these boats will withstand everything but the most horrendous abuse. Featured in the Chatham series, the 16, 17 and 18 and the Necky Looksha 17 in Fiberglass, a great boat for loading down for multiday outings (with rudder-also available in poly).

Want a light, smaller craft for day-tripping? For women looking for a more manageable boat on land and on the water, we have some lightweight fiberglass models, including Seda's new Ikkuma 15', a Greenland design that is a responsive, easy to carry boat that is fun to paddle and easy to load. Also, checkout Necky's fiberglass versions (also available in poly) of the Eliza (49#)and the Manitou 13 (39#) and Manitou 14 (45#). The Seda Atajo is a light boat for smaller paddlers that is easy to handle, and comes with a rudder.

The Ikkuma from Seda, (17', 22"W) is a fun Greenland-style touring boat. Great initial and secondary stability, with the handling of a short boat, and the speed of a long boat, it carves and surfs well, and 46# in a Kevlar/Fiberglass layup.  Want a fast race boat? Try our Seda Glider, 19" x 21.5", winner of many races. It also makes a great touring kayak, with lots of space.

Necky has a fishing version, the Zoar Sport Angler, a stable, sit-inside kayak for those who like the freedom and excitement of fishing from their kayak.

If you are looking for a kayak to carry on your big boat, how about an easy-to-store Advanced Frame inflatable single or double, or their new Expedition K-1?  The Manitou Sport  in poly by Necky is also a popular choice.

Necky's Manitou Two is a recreational double with one large cockpit in the stern, to accommodate a child, the dog, etc, with a removable child's seat, and a standard cockpit in the bow. Each will take a sprayskirt for venturing out on choppy days.
